KALEN DRAKE SANDERS, PSYD
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Mark Sanders (He/His/Him) is the owner and primary provider of clinical services for Timber Creek Counseling West. He is a fully licensed psychologist. He earned his doctoral degree at Wheaton College in Clinical Psychology and completed his predoctoral internship at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA where he received specialized training in working with college-aged individuals and the LGBTQ+ population. He also has experience working in residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings.
Mark has experience providing a wide range of services to a diverse group of clients. Although he enjoys working with clients of varying ages, he greatly enjoys working with older teens and emerging adults. He identifies as a general practitioner with clinical interests including, but not limited to: religious/spiritual concerns, LGBTQ+, relational difficulties, trauma, depression, anxiety, multicultural issues, and grief/loss. Mark grew up in West Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Calvin College.
As a therapist, Mark hopes to meet each client where they are and work with them to develop and work towards goals that fit within their values.
MELISSA CUTHBERT, BS, MBA
Executive Director
Melissa Cuthbert (She/Her/Hers) is the Executive Director for Timber Creek Counseling West. She works with organizations and individuals in strategic goal setting, fulfilling vision, and finding balance in transitions. She also leads Timber Creek's organizational processes, strategies, finance, and operations.
Melissa has led teams for the past decade and has focused much of her career on operations, finance, and staff coaching for mid-size organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and an MBA from the University of Michigan-Flint.
DR. ANDREW CUTHBERT, PSYD
Licensed Psychologist
Andrew Cuthbert (He/Him/His) received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College. He previously worked at the University of Michigan Mary A Rackham Institute, where he received specialized training for couple's and family issues. He has experience in both counseling and assessment in a community mental health setting, a legal center providing wrap-around care, intensive and partial-hospitalization programs, and college counseling centers. He works with children, families, emerging adults, and older adults, and is also a certified PREPARE-ENRICH facilitator.
Dr. Kalen Sanders (She/Her) is a licensed psychologist at Timber Creek Counseling. She earned her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology through Wheaton College in the Western suburbs of Chicago. While at Wheaton College, Dr. Sanders delved into trauma and international research, working with refugee populations in Eastern Africa. She continued her pre-doctoral internship and early training at Pine Rest in Grand Rapids, MI, emphasizing trauma treatment and psychological assessment.
Dr. Sanders has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings, including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programs. She enjoys working with individuals with a broad range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma-related disorders. She also conducts psychological assessments, including ADHD, behavioral, personality, and diagnostic assessments.
Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Sanders is happy to call West Michigan her home now. In her spare time, she enjoys completing DIY home improvement projects, cooking, and exploring Michigan with her family.
